PCS lockdown January 25, 2018

I just would like to inform all parents that our school was included in the lock-down that took place this morning. We were notified at 8:20 by the RCMP requesting that all schools initiate their lock-down procedures due to an ongoing situation.  We had all students go to their classrooms and all exterior doors were then locked.

The lockdown was lifted at 8:35 when the RCMP phoned the school.  The community RCMP officer arrived at the school around 9:20 to inform me that the situation was due to an armed robbery that had taken place this morning in Ponoka and the suspects left Ponoka via Highway 2-A.

Our students were completely safe during this time.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any board member.

On another note, If you have not signed up for notifications from our school web site or school face book page, I would strongly encourage you to do so.
